European Transitional

"Casa Couture" is not only the inspiration for the Design House, but also the inspiration for the lifestyle I create for my clients. When designing, I truly believe in fashion AND function ... what I like to refer to as "approachable design". As a designer, I source heavily from Europe for textiles, furnishings, accessories, color, trends and lifestyle. I believe the Foyer is the "appetizer" of the home and truly sets the tone for what is to come. I wanted to create a balance of mixing crisp whites and clean lines in the upholstered pieces, with a soothing sophisticated mineral aqua color on the walls. The room is then anchored by espresso brown accents in textiles and incorporating different textures, while creating warmth with antique and reclaimed woods in the accent tables. Finishing the space with distressed golds and silvers bedazzles the room and nods to a formal entry, while the natural linens invite you to stay for a while.

About Yvette Piaggio

At an early age, Yvette Piaggio recognized that her true passion was Interior Design. At only 13, Piaggio immersed herself into the design world by taking classes at New York's Fashion Institute of Technology, while attending high school simultaneously. Piaggio's excitement about décor led her from a dorm room with black and white tear sheets adorning her walls to a booming business designing high-end Residential and Commercial spaces.

In September 2001, she opened Piaggio's Loft, a full service custom Interior Design House. Piaggio's Loft offers an extensive Residential and Contract fabric, trim and custom furniture library. It also offers floor plan and layout design, custom patterns and textiles created and sewn by in-house seamstresses, handmade and machine made rugs, crystal embellished chandeliers, accent lighting and accessories.

In almost seven years, Piaggio has completed numerous residential spaces for many notables and prominent government officials, as well as commercial projects, including her latest 8,000 square-foot restaurant, D'Acqua, located on Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. Piaggio likes to create comfortable, beautiful, fashionable, but yet functional spaces, what she refers to as "approachable design."

Piaggio is armed with a degree in Accessory Design from The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and a degree in Visual Arts from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. In addition to being featured in the July 2008 edition of Home & Design Magazine as "Hot New Talent", Piaggio has become a regular TV personality on HGTV's show "Curb Appeal."
