The Washington Design Center

Located in the heart of our Nation's Capitol, The Washington Design Center is the mid-Atlantic region's largest single resource and destination for the design industry offering top industry brands, manufacturers resources, services for design professionals as well as special events and programs for the trade and consumers alike. In 1982, The Washington Design Center was converted from a refrigerated warehouse, originally built in 1919, and a 150,000 square foot section was added to the original 250,000 square foot warehouse to create The Washington Design Center as it is today. With just under 400,000 square feet of space, there are over 70 wholesale residential, commercial and building products showrooms.

As the majority of the building is a wholesale market for high-end furnishings, The Washington Design Center is dedicated to providing the finest in home and commercial furnishings "To the Trade." The "Trade" is an industry term referring to interior designers, architects, decorators, space planners and design consultants. To meet the growing demands of the tremendous real estate growth and desire of homeowners to enhance their homes with the finest in kitchen and bath designs, a retail level comprised of kitchen, bath and building products showrooms.
